Description
This work has an open shape because the rim is warped outward. This belongs to a group of the biggest works in Old-kutani ware. The central part of bottom is filled with a violet Uchiwa (Japanese fan), decorated skillfully with the image of the moment a heron is stopped by arrows in the clouds. Eight scattered treasure patterns around the bottom that are linked in yellow, green and violet. Black serrated patterns are painted on the green outer rim.
