- Description
- The liveliness of a group of Chinese children playing together is indeed skillfully painted. The pine trees, rocks and clouds near them are compactly drawn in the Kano school style. Large Saya (fret) patterns painted in green and ultramarine adorn the rim, and there are seven windows in the shape of nyoi (a priest’s staff head), and there are nyoi arabesque designs drawn within them. On the back rim painted simply but elegantly there is a flame design, a single dragon and a pair of Chinese phoenix.
