"An old pine is boldly stands gnarled and bent with its pine needles circularly depicted.
The distinctive lines of the pine trunk, ground cover and stones below, so it seems as if we are viewing a painting on the wall or fusuma from the Momoyama period and we become conscious of the characteristics of the Kano school of painting. A delicate floral motif stands out, and purple, green and yellow are used throughout the design. On the back, wavy clouds are painted, and within the high cut base, the Chinese character ""福 "" is enclosed in a double rectangle. The underside is glazed entirely green.
