Description
Kirikane (gold and silver leaf cutouts) is the technique to put the lines or the pieces of triangle, diamond-shaped of gold and silver to decorate the surface with the patterns. It is the effect of kirikane that shows the strong glittering and the clear line drawings, and realizes the prominent design. “Minori” is meaning the lotus flower by using a figurative expression of terms of Buddhism. The whole plate is decorated with the round flower patterns, arabesque, square and fine cutout of gold and silver foil. This is a reproduction of the decorative elegance in the Heian dynasty era.
