Description
This is a uniquely shaped Mukozuke (side dish) featuring pine bark and weight designs. Both edges are heavily glazed in the unique Oribe green,. In the center vine arabesque motifs have been drawn by quick brush strokes and a ferrite pigment. Because a frame was used to make this molded piece, marks remain both on the face of the bottom and on the inner sides, which add charm. In addition, on back there are three legs. This work expresses the free atmosphere of the Momoyama era and outstanding points of Oribe designed as tableware are evident.
