- On the left side of the lid is depicted a building whose roof extends to the edge of this piece. Turning water wheels in the waves are represented on the right. The well-known landscape around the Yodo River is depicted in attractive maki-e lacquer. A big bridge surrounded by blossoming chrysanthemums is illustrated mainly in take maki-e. On the back of the lid. This is a very elaborate work that uses a variety of techniques, including gold-sprinkled lacquer relief, lacquer painting, kanagai and kirikane.
