Ganku's lifework theme was drawing tigers. This pair of male and female tigers are drawn at close up range. The surrounding area is abstractly drawn. He developed this technique after learning the style of Chinese painting of the Song and Yuan Dynasties as well as the drawings of the Sotatsu school.
