Shallow, flared bowl with a design of a pair of birds, surrounded by hundreds of flowers, done in overglaze enamels in Ko-kutani Iro'e style. In the central well a cursive yellow octagon frames boldly drawn rocks, old trees, and a pair of birds resting on a withered branch. The wide rim is filled with a gorgeously detailed background of chrysanthemum-like flowers, gourds and phoenixes in the "hundred flowers" style.
