tea bowl
Description
The upper part of this tea bowl is pinched, the lower part is swollen, the lip is turned in somewhat, and a round tea puddle is made distinctively in the bottom of the bowl. It appears that Raku Sonyu followed Raku Chojiro’s tea bowl style in both the points of shape and glaze tone. However, the glaze of his work is a deeper, darker black, and it has been fired sufficiently. In addition, because the foot is shallowly formed, we can see another of Sonyu’s unique points.
