Description
KAMOI Rei starts to make a painting with the subject of church around 1969 when he is awarded a Yasui Prize. The church is designed a lump in black and white with no windows and doors. It seems that no one can be accepted. He, struggling to make paintings in a secluded village in Spain, says “The question, why I do not have any religion, creates the painting of a church and a remnants of a defeated army”.
