Description
Ki-seto ware was made in the Mino kilns. Many works of the Momoyama period have excellent characteristic taste expressed with a special color tone of glazes. This particular piece takes the shape of a thick root. Two thick lines are found on the surface of the cover. Completely glazed in a yellow matte, and deep, vivid green Tanpan has been impressively added to the surface. This incense case belongs to the Ayame-te category. The bottom is cut like a bamboo container for Go (Japanese game) stones. Although this incense case is small it has a magnificent atmosphere.
