Description
Geometrical patterns are one of characteristic trademarks of Old-Kutani ware. The round shape of the shallow bowl is divided by paving stone figures, on which various tiny patterns are painted. On these stone figures, colors of green, ultramarine, yellow and violet are attractively arranged. In a square with patterns in red there are primary patterns with yellow and ultramarine phoenix motifs facing one other on each of the four corners. Though it looks simple at a glance, excellent skills are executed to produce it.
