- Description
- FURUTA Oribe is well known as one of SEN-no-Rikyu’s seven sages. He continued to work as a tea master under Hideyoshi after SEN-no-Rikyu''s death. He is also famous for developing and refining the tea ceremony as performed by feudal lords. It is in typical Oribe style, with a long tip spoon and angled grip. The Tsuyu is made in Ichimonji style with a straight-cut tip. Three quarters of the grip is in peeled bamboo. “Oribe’s tea spoon” is written in sumi ink on the container, whose case includes a note from KOBORI Gonjuro.
