Description
We can see the name of “Katsukuni in Kashu” in silver inlay outside the mon-ita. This work, flamboyantly inscribed with “March, 1681” in silver inlay at the corner of the back, makes this item of special interest, since this is the only example giving the year of production of Kaga -zogan inlay. A water wheel is arranged in plain inlay at the front and arabesque patterns in the space at the left, which continues around to the back. The part on which the feet are placed is in black lacquer. In Kaga-zogan inlay, there are a few stirrups lacquered in black and many in Uwate style
