- Hamade Seishou depicted famous personalities on the canvas . His main motif was the seasonal plants and flowers in the garden of his house in his hometown. He washed over parts he did not like, scraped them with cloth, and scratched areas with nails until he achieved the effects he wanted, never feeling limited to conventional Japanese painting techniques.
