- In traditional painting circles in Kyoto, NISHIYAMA Hideo, known as a painter of majesty of nature, made efforts to innovate and develop modern Japanese painting. The blizzard-swept crest depicted in the center strikingly makes a striking contrast with the deep blue of the sky and the blackish brown of the face of the mountain. We can almost feel the buffeting of the roaring wind sweeping snow up from the ground.
