- Description
- We can read “Onjiki” as meaning sound and color in Japanese. This figure looks like it is saying something while putting its hands to its mouth. The sculptor says that what is being said concerns the Buddhism, which is the valuable teachings influenced on the creature. That is why he named it “Onjiki”. It is seemingly a very lovable and childlike face with the graceful and warm feeling based on his deep respect for Buddhism.
