Description
MIYAMOTO Saburo has a hard time to make his paintings after the War because the abstract paintings sweep over the painting field of Japan. He tries to find out the point of contact between the abstract paintings and his own nature of a representational painter. He paints the series of animals and the running water, and more makes the sketches of the statues of Buddha in Yamato area. This painting is described a Ashura in Kofuku-ji temple by emphasis on the materiality of oil colors complicatedly. The Ashura with grace and dignity is appeared on this painting with the solid and colors of a similar shade.
